Writing Music...
First of all I'm having a hard time trying to figure out a writing soundtrack for my NaNo. For TNFH, my soundtrack has songs Indigo Girls, Marc Anthony, Backstreet Boys, Willy Porter, Natalie Merchant and Tracy Chapman, RENT, and other random songs that fit the mood of the story. This other novel doesn't have a sound track and it's really bothering me. I don't know what genre of music fits this story. It's not a story of adversity, loss, birth, death, guilt, hope, love and that's why none of my typical writing music is working for me. My Nano, which is seriously in jeopardy of not being written is a story mostly about self-discovery and family dynamics. Those two themes are definitely in my first novel, but there shouldn't be any complexities of the other story. What's complex is all the research and history I need for this one, but it's a fairly simple story about a young woman who learns a family secret, deals with it and then changes her life because of it. It's not a big, dark, horrible secret but it comes as a surprise to the rest of the family when she learns about it.
Sorry I'm being so vague. I'm just rambling. I'll probably clarify later.
